Luanne Rose-Marie is here!
Our little baby girl (aka reason for blog neglect) finally arrived on the 2nd of June at 3:35 NZ time weighing a wee 2.745kgs. She is beautiful (if I may say so myself) and I feel blessed to now be the Mommy of the best little boy AND the best little girl in the whole world!

Look forward to blogging once again as and when my little one permits.

Cricket Night
Well, finally, India won a cricket tournament! And to top it off, against Pakistan. The match was worth what we are paying Sky and through all Ryan's commentary (which trust me, can be deafening!) it was excellent entertainment. I think I'd be saying the same thing even if Pakistan won. That last ball was such a climax to the whole innings. My eyes were half-closed with the anticipation of 'anything could happen next' and believe you me, I was not disappointed - anything did happen! That was a shocker from Misbah but we certainly were well-rewarded die-hard Indian cricket fans who stayed up till four - R especially, what with having work the next day and all.

Shahrukh made several appearances, too, though he is beginning to look like an Indian Micheal Jackson for some reason. It did not bother me too much since I'm not a fan but I would think that someone needs to tell him that he's getting that plasticine look.

Anyway, let's not take away from India's glorious win even though by just a small margin.

All in all, Fantastic Cricket!

Sushi, sashimi, yippee!
Yippee!

Tried doing a home run on Japanese cuisine yesterday. Love sushi and sashimi but the cost is not worth what they put on your plate. So, armed with the nori, gari, fresh salmon, wasabi, sushi rice and all, I endeavoured to take the hubs and kid to Japan! Needless to say, Jayden has such a limited palate he couldn't be bothered so we did a salmon fry for him. But, the sushi experience was wonderful! It was the real McCoy, mind you. I totally can cook! Well, no wonder R is in 7th heaven.

Next time you're invited over, you know what the menu will be like.

Enjoy your week!

High School Musical
Last night, the three of us went to a High School Musical Copycat Concert at the Civic. Having seen High School Musical (the Disney movie) already, the performance was a bit shoddy. Photographs were not allowed, they said, to protect the cast which is why this post is bare. Anyway, it was our first time at the Civic and we thought that the setting rocked but the musical left a lot to be desired. Jayden enjoyed the whole two and a half hours of it, though. It was a kid thing, after all. The cast was from some NZ teen group or something. Alright, it was kind of OK but that's as far as this critic will go. The teeny boppers and their adult companions were raving mad with deliriousness, nonetheless, which just goes to show that it doesn't take much to get Aucklanders (aka NZers) excited!

The main reason we went was that we won the tickets, or rather, R won the tickets! Only the second time we've actually won something in NZ. All in all, however, it has been one of those really nice weekends.

Finally, a century
Congratulations, Fireplace Musings, for a long-awaited century! No thanks to the blog author...

Last night I had a dream (read flight of the imagination) ...today it kind of came true! "You're looking lovely today!" nice complements and stuff
.... but man, all in all what a weird day!

Sorry to be so ambiguous, but, that's all I'm going to say. You, on the other hand, can keep guessing.

One more week but who's counting...
I can't believe that time has fled like wild fire and I have neglected my poor FM. Well, lots has been happening here in God's own dot-in-the ocean country. YT has been totally preoccupied with what pays half the bills around here and the other half that will help that half go up by heaps! Are you with me? Personally I got lost after preoccupied, but anyway.

The head matriarch of R's family beckons us back to the mothership during Christmas for a big occasion in the family and I am miffed at the thought that someone thinks they can tell me what to do! I have my own plans and will go when I feel like it. No wonder, R's hair is falling out! I won't be caught dead attending said occasion.

Today at school, one little b***** kept insisting that the immigrants in New Zealand needed to go back to where they came from. Yet another insignificant ignoramus who will get only so much space in this post.

NZ is getting a bit too slow for me these days. Miss the city. Maybe we should move house but city life in Auckland is way behind. Maybe we need to move country! Any jobs for an Economics teacher anywhere out there in the more civilised world, except Australia, please? I come with great refs.

Oh well, here we go again moan, moan, more moan. Can't wait for the TB to chill out for yet another fourteen days of utter nothingness.

FM = Fireplace Musings
YT = Yours truly
TB = Term break
