DROWNING RUTH
Of the many books that I've read since I've been on vacation, "Drowning Ruth" by Christina Schwarz has won my admiration. It is a book in which the lives of a family are intricately woven in love, loss, guilt, lies and tragedy. The turn of events is magnificent and kept me wanting to get to the end nonstop. I don't want to spoil it for those of you who haven't read it so I'm not going into details. Suffice it to say that it taught me a lot - that immense love amongst family members binds them with ties that are impregnable but the secrets that they keep from each other have a way of insidiously sneaking into their lives and tearing them apart.
